When the leaves are skeletal, one can clearly see a fine-meshed network of compounds. A discreet allusion to the fact that everything around us, in the same way, is connected in a larger whole. The fragile inner network of the leaf is also its skeleton and that is what holds the structure together. This also applies to a great extent to us humans. For our most important function as human beings and as living organisms, the ability to cooperate and support each other in working towards something bigger and better.
